Dr. Gavin Catto, C.Eng.
Director
Gavin is the founder of Green Cat Renewables, which was established in Scotland in 2004. Gavin remains the primary owner and majority shareholder of the organizations within the Green Cat group. Gavin has a background in electrical engineering with a PhD in wind turbine generator design, his broad base of expertise includes project feasibility assessment and optimization, construction management, commercial risk assessment, environmental assessment, resource assessment, grid connection negotiation and system design. As Director of Green Cat, Gavin has overseen the delivery of many GW’s of renewable generation.
Stephanie Wood, P.Eng.
Director
Steph has worked in the renewable energy sector since 2009, both in Europe and North America. Steph has a strong technical grounding and holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with Renewable Energy from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. In her time in the industry, she has established a broad base of renewable project development experience, specializing in greenfield concept development, project development strategy, technical assessment, regulatory permitting and permitting strategy, wind resource assessment, technical due diligence, stakeholder engagement and layout design. Steph has a strong interest in development of in hybrid and multi-technology systems with a focus on energy security. In her role as Director, Steph is responsible for the overall management and strategy of the Green Cat consultancy in Canada.
Jaimie Slana
Regulatory Lead & Project Director
Jaimie holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Energy Development from the University of Calgary as well as Bachelor degrees in Biology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). During her time in the renewable energy industry, Jaimie has been involved in regulatory permitting, technical assessments, stakeholder engagement, due diligence reviews, and has extensive experience in feasibility and environmental assessments of wind and solar projects.
Tyler Reid
Environmental Department Lead
Tyler is a professional biologist (P.Biol.) with over 18 years of diverse industry and research experience across Canada. Tyler has a strong technical background and holds a Master’s degree in Ecology from the University of Calgary. He has developed and led multidisciplinary teams to complete complex environmental assessments and provide regulatory permitting strategy support for a wide range of utility scale wind and solar energy projects in Canada. Tyler’s extensive regulatory knowledge and strategy development have helped multiple projects achieve successful municipal, provincial, and federal approvals and maintain regulatory compliance through all project phases.
Margaux McLean, P.Eng.
Civil Engineer
Margaux is a Civil Engineer with Green Cat and joined the Calgary office in July 2022. She holds a Civil Engineering degree from Dalhousie University with an earth and environment focus. At Green Cat, Margaux has been involved with the detailed design of wind and solar energy projects in the Yukon and Alberta. She has experience producing conceptual solar and wind farm layouts located across Canada and the United States. Margaux has over five years of experience in the engineering consulting industry, including past experience contributing to municipal infrastructure projects located across Canada.
Jason Mah
Jason Mah, P.Eng.
Technical Lead
Jason is part of our Engineering team and leads technical studies as we support our clients in the development of wind, solar, energy storage and green hydrogen projects. Jason holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary. During his time in the renewable industry, Jason has gained experience in a number of areas including: assessment of solar glare hazards, noise impacts, and shadow flicker; presenting expert testimony at AUC hearings; regulatory permitting for wind and solar projects; feasibility assessments; market reviews; and project due diligence.
Alex Van Horne, P.Eng.
Regulatory Specialist & Project Manager
Alex joined the Calgary team as a Project Manager and regulatory specialist in 2021. Alex currently supports our clients with the regulatory permitting of renewable and alternative generation projects, including; wind, solar, energy storage and green hydrogen development projects, and supports the development of novel strategies to successfully permit projects throughout Canada. Alex has supported our clients as an expert witness before the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) during public hearings. Prior to joining Green Cat, Alex supported the AUC for over 3 years, and brings valuable experience in the regulatory permitting of generation projects, the development of technical studies and project management. Alex completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan.
Gavin Jackson
Senior Project Manager
Gavin has over a decade of experience in the renewable energy sector across North American and European markets. Prior to joining Green Cat Renewables in Canada in 2019, Gavin worked with Green Cat Renewables in the UK from 2009. As Senior Project Manager Gavin’s main role is carrying out Owners Engineer responsibilities on behalf of clients, developing wind and solar projects, through the engineering, procurement, and construction phases. This includes providing design overview management, procurement strategy and execution, contract design and management, contractor and schedule management and construction supervision. On site Gavin has direct experience overseeing and coordinating all the construction elements associated with wind and solar developments, including the civil, electrical, and structural works. Gavin has particular experience in delivering remote, unique and challenging projects. Gavin holds a bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying from the Edinburgh Napier University, Scotland.
Bruce Fraser
Senior Project Manager and Principal Environmental Consultant
Bruce joined the Halifax Green Cat Renewables team as a Senior Project Manager and Environmental Consultant in February 2024. Leveraging over two decades of experience across both international and regional sectors, Bruce brings a wealth of expertise in conventional and renewable energy, environmental management, and regulatory permitting. Throughout his career, Bruce has successfully managed complex projects and led multidisciplinary teams. His areas of expertise include environmental assessment, monitoring, permitting, and stakeholder consultation. He has participated in both federal and provincial environmental assessment processes with responsibility for the overall project management, client advisement, document production, and regulatory & stakeholder engagement. At Green Cat, Bruce is responsible for supporting the expansion of our environmental service offerings in Atlantic Canada and aiding our clients across all regions by facilitating collaboration with diverse stakeholders, identifying and mitigating environmental risks, navigating complex permitting processes, and ensuring adherence to local and federal regulations.
Ally Wright
Project Manager
Ally joined Green Cat in 2019, starting out working with the team in Scotland and relocated to join the Calgary team at the start of 2023. Ally holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Glasgow, as well as an MSc in Sustainable Engineering: Renewable Energy Systems and the Environment from the University of Strathclyde. During his time with Green Cat he has gained experience in the development of wind, solar and hydro generation projects, acting as owner’s engineer throughout the project construction phase. In addition, Ally has a thorough understanding of early phase development and has been engaged in feasibility studies for a range of renewable technologies. Ally is a Project Manager with a broad understanding of developing renewable energy projects from project conception to commissioning.
Jacqueline Gallagher
Project Manager
Jacqueline joined the Calgary team as a Junior Project Manager in 2022. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Calgary and is experienced in regulatory permitting, feasibility assessments, technical assessments, due diligence reviews, geographic information systems (GIS), and greenhouse gas quantification for wind, solar, energy storage, and hydrogen projects. Prior to joining Green Cat, Jacqueline led the regulatory permitting scopes of utility scale wind and solar projects in Alberta, and acted as an owner’s representative on two wind projects in the United States. Her responsibilities at Green Cat include visualizations, solar glare analyses, shadow flicker assessments, regulatory permitting, and general project management.
Jeremy Chan
Renewable Energy E.I.T.
Jeremy joined the Green Cat team in 2021 and holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary. Jeremy leverages his past project management, design, and construction experience to help advance Green Cat in the North American cleantech industry. Jeremy supports our clients with a range of management and technical aspects in wind, solar, and energy storage projects, including site feasibility assessment and selection, layout design and optimization, renewable resource assessment, construction management, and regulatory permitting technical assessments and strategy.
Justin Lee
Renewable Energy E.I.T.
Justin joined the Green Cat team in 2021 and holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta. Justin brings his keen interest in renewable energy to work each day and is excited to help Green Cat advance the North American cleantech industry. Justin supports our clients with the technical aspects of a range of renewable energy and power generation projects including wind, solar and battery energy storage. He is directly involved with the preparation of technical deliverables, some of which include: Noise Impact Assessments, Shadow Flicker Assessments, Solar Glare Hazard Analysis, and Wind Resource Assessment. Justin also has previous experience in assisting clients with project management, construction, revenue forecasting and technical support.
Riley Corrigan
Renewable Energy E.I.T.
Riley joined the Calgary team in 2022 as a Renewable Energy E.I.T. and holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary. He has previously worked in the engineering consulting industry focusing on trenchless engineering projects for the pipeline and utility sector. Riley became interested in renewable energy through his work on student projects and his internship while studying at the University of Calgary. He is excited to be supporting renewable energy projects and the growth of the North American cleantech industry.
Laura Essak
Renewable Energy E.I.T.
Laura joined the Calgary team in 2022 as a Renewable Energy EIT. In this role, Laura will be providing technical support for wind, solar, and energy storage projects. Some of her main responsibilities include Solar Glare Hazard Analyses and Visual Production. Laura holds a MSc in Renewable Energy Engineering from the University of Exeter as well as a BSc degree in Civil Engineering from Queen’s University. Her studies were focused on Offshore Wind, Tidal Energy, and Floating Photovoltaics. In her free time, Laura can be found in the mountains either skiing, backcountry camping or biking.
Joshua Kim
Renewable Energy E.I.T.
Joshua joined the Calgary team as a Renewable Energy E.I.T in 2023. Holding a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta, Joshua has previous experience working with renewable energy projects in Edmonton from co-op work terms, along with bolstered interests and knowledge in renewable energy through additional coursework in energy markets. He is eager to contribute to building a cleaner and more sustainable future by providing technical support on wind, solar, and energy storage projects. In his free time, Josh enjoys hitting the gym, taking trips to the mountains, and playing video games with friends.
Paul Mueller
Electrical E.I.T.
Paul is an Electrical E.I.T. who brings a project from design to implementation with enthusiasm. His recent years in power and energy was built on a foundation developed at the University of Calgary with a keen interest in renewables through the student branch of IEEE, and the student society of Emerging Leaders for Clean Energy. Before focusing his efforts on school for his Electrical Engineering degree he used to be an accomplished pro gamer in Counter-Strike. These days most of his spare time is spent mountain biking and enjoying the stunning nature that Alberta has to offer.
Adam Pezoulas
Electrical E.I.T.
Adam joined the Calgary team in 2023 as an Electrical E.I.T. after graduating from the University of Calgary with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computer Engineering. Adam's experience profile includes hardware and software design for embedded wireless systems, and he enjoys any opportunity to gain new experience and knowledge in the electrical engineering discipline. He is excited to work with Green Cat Renewables Canada and be a part of the expanding renewable energy industry in Canada and abroad. In his free time Adam pursues a wide variety of hobbies, ranging from skiing, golf, and hockey, to 3D printing, videogames, and travel.

Ryan Callaghan
Renewable Energy E.I.T.
Ryan joined the Halifax team in 2024 as a Renewable Energy EIT. In this role, Ryan will be providing technical support for wind, solar, and energy storage projects. Ryan’s responsibilities include supporting technical assessments for noise, glare and shadow flicker as well as helping develop client relations in Atlantic Canada. Ryan graduated with a MASc in Mechanical Engineering from Dalhousie University in 2023 and additionally holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from Dalhousie University. His research focused primarily on thermal energy storage in buildings. Ryan enjoys playing basketball, bass guitar and travelling in his free time.
Tilda Hadley
Renewable Energy E.I.T.
Tilda joined the Green Cat team in 2024 and holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Dalhousie University. She leverages her past project management, clean energy, and research experience to help advance Green Cat in the Nova Scotia's renewable energy industry. She is eager to contribute to building a cleaner and more sustainable future by providing technical support on wind, solar, and energy storage projects across Canada. In her free time, she can be found in the reading a book, traveling or trying a new restaurant with friends.
Sarah Forman
Renewable Energy E.I.T.
Sarah joined the Calgary team in 2024 as a Renewable Energy E.I.T. with a M.Eng in Mechanical Engineering specializing in Energy & Environment, as well as a BSc. in Mechanical Engineering, both from the University of Calgary. She developed a passion for renewable energy through her schooling and previous work experiences and is excited to bring positive change to the environment. At Green Cat, Sarah will be providing technical support for wind, solar, and energy storage projects. Some of her main responsibilities include Noise Impact Assessments, Solar Glare Hazard Analyses, and Shadow Flicker Assessments. She has over 3 years of experience in the engineering industry relating to operations, design, and project management. In her free time, Sarah enjoys road cycling, skiing, and weightlifting.
Teagan Holt
Wildlife Biologist
Teagan is a wildlife biologist with over 8 years of experience and has professional designation from the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists as a Biologist in Training. Teagan’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Ecosystem Management and a Renewable Resource Management diploma from Lethbridge College. Over the past 3 years, Teagan has been heavily involved in the renewable energy industry in Alberta and across Canada. Her renewable energy experience encompasses various projects and stages of project completion. This includes coordinating and executing extensive field programs which involve pre-disturbance assessments, wildlife identification, habitat mapping, construction monitoring, and post-construction monitoring of bats and birds
Hannah Phillips
Intermediate Biologist
Hannah Phillips is a wildlife biologist with over 6 years of experience in consulting and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Queen’s University, and a post-graduate certificate in Ecosystem Restoration from Niagara College Canada. Hannah is recognized as a Professional Biologist by both the College of Applied Biologists (BC), and the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists. Hannah is experienced in completing wildlife surveys for renewable energy projects including species-at-risk surveys, breeding bird surveys, and post-construction monitoring for birds and bats. In addition to Hannah’s experience on renewable energy projects, she has extensive experience on large scale energy projects, leading wildlife teams through bird, mammal, and amphibian surveys.
Kathi Kramer
Finance Manager
Kathi Kramer leads the Green Cat Canada finance team as Finance Manager and is responsible for financial processes, reporting, analysis, asset management and HR administration. Kathi has over 30 years financial and accounting management experience in a broad range of industries, including public accounting, engineering, telecommunications, food and beverage, and non-profit organizations, and holds a commerce degree in accounting. In her spare time Kathi enjoys volunteering, soccer, cooking, traveling, golf, and spending time with family.
Eve Taillon
Renewable Energy Intern
Eve graduated from the University of Western Ontario in the Winter of 2024 with an honor's degree in Integrated Science with Environmental Science. Eve joined the Calgary Green Cat team in the summer of 2023 as a Renewable Energy Intern, and returned to the team for the summer of 2024. With a certificate in geographic information systems (GIS) and a passion for sustainability, Eve has applied her skills through assisting on technical assessments and reporting for wind, solar, and energy storage projects.
Susan Thomas
Office Manager
Susan is a Civil Engineer with over 8 years of experience as an Educator, Design coordinator and Estimation Engineer. Susan’s areas of specialty include Project Coordination and Estimation. She started her career as Assistant Professor in India, Later moved to Qatar where she was working as Coordinator and Estimation Engineer with a contracting and a Steel manufacturing company. Susan has provided administrative support to organizations with diverse cultures. She enjoys learning new skills and engaging in upcycling projects during her free time.
