Temporis Portfolio

Green Cat Renewables (GCR) acted as Client’s Engineer for a large portfolio of single
500kW scale wind turbines located across the UK for a single client, Temporis Wind.
Temporis Wind are one of the largest developers of single 500kW wind projects across the UK.

In our role as Client’s Engineer, GCR were responsible for the following:

• Project Management.
• Carrying out the CDM Co-ordinator/Principal Designer role under the
  Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations.
• Contractual Design and Contractor Management.
• Planning conditions discharge.
• Design.
• Construction Supervision.

GCR and Temporis successfully delivered forty separate single turbine projects over the course of a five-year period. Of the forty turbines installed, over thirty were EWT
turbines. Working together on such a large number of projects over a short period of
time helped develop a close working relationship between GCR, EWT and Temporis
Wind.

Projects were constructed throughout Scotland, England and Wales – from the
Northern tip of the Highlands of Scotland, to Cornwall in the South-West of England.
As the projects were all built out under the Feed-in-Tariff (FIT) scheme, this added the complexity of completing numerous projects at one time, at various locations
throughout the UK working towards a FIT deadline.

The volume of sites completed during the five-year period presented a range of
challenges to overcome: from water crossings, extensive off-site works, high pressure
gas pipe crossings and complex grid routes, to the unique engineering challenge of
constructing a wind turbine at the end of a harbour wall in Lancashire.

The close working relationship between GCR and Temporis Wind continues, as we
embark on our next venture together in Alberta, Canada.
