Energy Efficiency Alberta announced the “Community Generation Capacity Building” program in collaboration with the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre this month.
The program was launched to help community groups fund and commence feasibility studies and development work for potential community generation projects. The intent is to provide communities the opportunity to assess renewable energy opportunities and build technical skills in the province. This funding is eligible for all organizations as defined under the Small Scale Generation Regulation Act.
Maximum funding of $500,000 is available, with an in-kind contribution of 10% for those requesting more than $200,000. The deadline set out for this funding is Feb 22,2019 at 5pm. For more information please see https://www.efficiencyalberta.ca/cgcb/.
If your community has any questions regarding the community generation program please contact us via email or phone. The Green Cat Renewables team would be glad to discuss potential opportunities for your community and assisting with your application and providing guidance throughout the process.
Come see us at the Community Generation Roadshow events in Calgary tomorrow (Wednesday, 30th January), and Lethbridge (Monday, 4th February).
